Four years. Wow.

Monday marked EV Universe’s birthday — four years since I sent the very first 500-word newsletter. It went to around 100 people.

Many of you don’t know that I took a leap and went full-time on the EV Universe far before it made sense financially. I was only 6 months into this thing when I took the leap and quit my job.

And no, it did not have revenue other than a few donations (thanks guys for the early support!). Small savings. Mainly scrappiness. All you need, really.

I’ve had a grand vision of what the EV Universe is in my head from the start, and we’ve been moving closer to it step by step this whole time.

First birthday, we had 1,410 readers and I launched the EV Universe Pro membership that day. With that, I was already writing ~2× 2,000 words per week, all on the same EV topics.

Second birthday, 2,119 of you were with us. I started adding some B2B deals for even more writing, all on the same EV topics.

Third birthday, 4,503 readers with us. The B2B deals, some other efforts, and two angel investors helped create enough momentum to start growing with more than just word-of-mouth, too.

Fourth birthday, 12,207 awesome subscribers like you. Add to that 100+ Pro members, 5 separate B2B clients that I do special reports for, socials and all kinds of other stuff, there’s quite a lot of content going out from my keyboard these days.

Did I mention I had three kids in the meantime? And that all this time, I’ve been doing everything on the EV Universe, the content, business and growth side, fully by myself, solo, no team or outsourcing.

Sadly that means that lately our weekly EV reports have become more of a 1.5-weekly reports. I hope you don’t mind. I have plans in place to fix that very soon and upgrade the experience significantly.

Since EV Universe is now financially stable & sustainable, I’m ready for the next step in the grand plan. It’ll be a step change in the impact the EV Universe makes. I can’t tell you yet, but I’m hopefully launching it before the end of this year.

Fifth birthday? So I have my plans, and it will be grand. I can’t wait to show you what’s coming next. But hey — even if we stay right here where we are today for a whole year?
